Solar Sunshades are recruiting surveyor/installers to join our team. The key roles required are outlined below:

Surveying
You will join our very successful field based survey and installation team. This is a front line ambassadorial role measuring and installing our various products directly to the consumer through pre-arranged home visits. You will be required to project a very professional image of yourself and the company using a warm, friendly and welcoming approach.

During these visits you will be expected to accurately measure all types of windows and conservatories or externally for canopies and awnings. Should there be any unusual, tricky or awkward windows or obstructions which need further explanation prior to manufacture or install then you will be required to provide a photograph of each widow attached to each order as required. Depending on the scale of the job, sketch drawings may be required.

Installations
During these visits you will be expected to be polite and courteous to the customer at all times. You will make sure that the work area is protected and kept clean and tidy throughout the installation process.

You will install all of our products safely and consistently in line with Solar’s PAI’s (Process Assembly Instructions) or the specific manufacturers fitting instructions, using the correct and appropriate fixings whilst paying particular attention to the relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

You must ensure that all old blinds, cardboard and all other packaging material is removed from site and the work area is cleaned and left in the same condition as on arrival, when you depart.

Once the installation is complete you will be required to demonstrate each blind and its operation to the customer to check that they are all fully functional and ensure the customer is fully satisfied. You will also be required to provide a photograph of each widow where possible to enable Solar to use these as future marketing material on the company web site or social media.

Product Knowledge
Our customers will expect advice and guidance on all our products, giving them the right practical and functional advice in the operation and maintenance of their products. However specific training will be given.

You will be committed to use, develop and maintain your Installation skills through various internal and external training courses for all our products to further improve and develop your skills.

A good knowledge of the geographical areas of South Wales will be an advantage to ensure you plan your route efficiently, but a Sat Nav system will be provided to assist you with this.

Marketing
You will need to know in detail the existing promotional activity relating to Solar and its competitors including specific marketing campaigns included in the press, lifestyle magazines, social media, websites, TV and radio etc.

IT
When surveying you will be required to enter the window sizes into a tablet containing our bespoke software. You will then enter the fabrics, colours and specifications required into the programme and this will generate the selling price. Once agreed by the customer and a deposit is paid, this order will then be entered onto our bespoke Blindata software which will then generate a works order. Therefore attention to detail and accuracy in sizes and data entry are vital.

Finance
You will be required to collect and process deposits and balances through various methods of payment including cash, cheque, chip and pin machines or our internet based portal for secure transactions.

There is also a specific finance gateway for our Interest Free and Interest bearing finance options.

Company Vehicle
A Company vehicle with fuel card will be provided along with a mobile phone, tablet, and Sat Nav all for business use only.

You will be responsible for regular vehicle checks and ensuring all service and MOT requirements are met alongside the Company Vehicle Policy.

A Full UK Driving license is required

Tooling and Equipment

All the necessary tools and equipment along with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided.
